Connexion [jamais vu Remix]

After releasing her debut album 'jamais vu', an EP describing the sudden unfamiliarity of ordinary things, KONA is now releasing a much anticipated remix album.

"Despite having trouble sleeping, I have always hoped that the person I love is sleeping well" wishes KONA. And it is with that warm wish, and the charming vocals of previous "Sign Here" winner sogumm, that the track 'Sleep tight' came to be. Including his unique sound and performance, an artist praised for exploring beyond the boundaries of jazz, Yun Seok Chul presents his interpretation of 'Sleep tight' on the album.

Confronted with the sudden feeling of unfamiliarity of everyday things, KONA and SUMIN express that experience through the title track 'jamais vu'. Remixed by Maalib & WRKMS, it was part of their album [SUSTAIN], an expression of their thoughts on modern day society.

Last but not least, the remix of the track 'Do not disturb' featuring Jade, which describes the feeling of not wanting to be "disturbed" until the morning, brings that "umph" factor to the album.

The track brings that edge thanks to the techno makeover it has been given by Objet, a member of Korea's underground house/techno platform txtrs. that has recently released his first track on the collective's [N.A.S.A.] compilation album.

지난 5월, 평소 익숙했던 것들이 갑자기 생소하게 느껴지는 현상을 뜻하는 단어 ‘jamais vu'
라는 이름으로 앨범을 첫 EP 발매했던 KONA 가 Remix 앨범을 준비했다.

사인히어의 우승자이자 목소리만큼이나 매력적인 보컬 sogumm과 함께 ‘내가 잠을 잘 자지 못하더라도 내가 사랑하는 누군가는 마음 편히 잘 수 있었으면 좋겠다’는 KONA의 따듯한 마음이 담긴 트랙 ‘Sleep tight’ 는 현재 재즈의 영역을 넘어 독특한 연주와 사운드로 많은 사람에게 사랑받는 아티스트 윤석철이 리믹스를 해주었고,

KONA와 SUMIN 이 느낀 익숙했던 모든 것이 한순간 낯설게 느껴지는 감정을 마주하게 되는 체험을 음악적으로 표현한 전 앨범의 동명 타이틀곡 ‘jamais vu’는 올해 9월, 앨범 [SUSTAIN]으로 현대 사회에 대한 그들만의 생각을 표현한 Maalib & WRKMS 가 리믹스를 해주었다.

마지막으로 Jade와 함께했던 트랙 ‘Do Not Disturb’는 일상 속에서 ‘아침까지 아무도 나를 건드리지 않았으면 좋겠다’는 내용으로 한국의 하우스/테크노 플랫폼 textures. 의 컴필레이션 앨범 [N.A.S.A.] 을 통해 존재감을 알린 Objet 가 테크노 스타일의 리믹스로 힘을 더해주었다.

이렇게 총 3곡의 리믹스로 구성된 이번 KONA의 Connexion [jamais vu Remix]는 원곡을 자신들만의 색깔로 재해석한 3명의 아티스트의 새로운 시선과 함께 지난 5월 발매한 [jamais vu] 앨범 의도를 다시 한번 상기할 수 있는 계기가 될 것이 분명하다.
